Is worry becoming hard to switch off?
You may be managing your day as usual, but your mind keeps going over what could happen next. Perhaps you feel on edge, find it difficult to relax or lie awake thinking about the same concerns.
It may be time to speak with a doctor if you are experiencing:
- Worry that feels difficult to control
- Frequent restlessness or uneasiness
- Sleep disturbed by recurring thoughts
- Difficulty concentrating
- Avoiding situations because they make you anxious
- Anxiety that is affecting work, relationships or daily life
Occasional anxiety is common. These experiences do not, by themselves, mean you have an anxiety disorder. You can still seek help to understand what is happening. If you’re not sure where you stand, start with UWAY’s free Stress Check. It takes about 60 seconds and can help you reflect on how stress may be affecting you right now.
If your concerns continue or begin affecting your sleep, work or daily life, you can then speak with an Ayurveda doctor about what you’re experiencing and what care may be appropriate.

What can an Ayurveda doctor do for anxiety?
Anxiety can show up in different ways. Your doctor will ask about the worry itself, when it began, what seems to make it worse and how it affects your day. The consultation also considers your sleep, daily routine, health history and any treatment you already receive.
Based on the assessment, the doctor will explain whether Ayurveda care is appropriate for you and what it would involve. This may include treatment prescribed as per Ayurveda medical protocols, advice on daily routines and follow-up. You can ask about the purpose of each recommendation, possible risks and how progress will be reviewed.
If counselling, psychological therapy, psychiatric care or further medical assessment is more appropriate, the doctor should discuss that with you.
What happens after you book?
1. Choose an appointment
Select an available doctor and time.
2. Tell the doctor what has been troubling you
You can start in your own words. Share your current medicines, previous treatment and any relevant reports.
3. Discuss the next step
The doctor will explain the assessment and recommendations. Before the consultation ends, you can clarify what to do next and whether a follow-up is needed.
Counselling is also available
If you would like time to talk through worries or difficult situations, UWAY offers counselling as a separate service. You can view the counselling professional’s qualifications and choose the appointment that suits your needs.
Questions you may have
No. Tell the doctor what you have been experiencing. They can discuss whether further assessment is needed.
Yes. Share all prescribed medicines, supplements and current treatment with the doctor so they can assess whether additional care is suitable. Do not stop or change prescribed medicines without speaking to the prescribing clinician.
That depends on the assessment. The doctor should explain any medicine they recommend, including its intended use, possible side effects and potential interactions.
Counselling is a separate service. The doctor can discuss whether it may be helpful, and you can ask about the available counselling professional before booking a session.
Tell the team about them when booking. New or severe chest pain, fainting or significant difficulty breathing needs urgent medical assessment; do not assume it is anxiety.
You do not need to have the right words or a diagnosis before your first appointment. Speak with a doctor and understand your options.
UWAY’s appointment service is not an emergency service. If you feel unable to keep yourself safe, or someone is in immediate danger, seek urgent help from the nearest emergency department.
